THE NEW KAIRIKU MASTER

We’ve entered a new phase at Kairiku. Our goal is to evolve and to grow, both in offer and in our team’s training. In Japanese cuisine, the best chefs are constantly learning, that’s why, this season, we’ve added a very special collaboration to our team – a Master of Japanese haute cuisine.

RYU KATANO NUEVO MAESTRO KAIRIKU RESTAURANTE JAPONES MALLORCA

Ryuichiro Katano is an authentic Japanese Master, with a long family tradition in the catering industry which spans many decades and he’s come to Kairiku to bring and share his knowledge and techniques with our team.

Ryu is originally from Otaru, a coastal city by the northern sea of Japan, where the Master began working in the family restaurant Kaiseki, which was his grandfather’s restaurant, at a very young age and where he worked until he was 40 years old. During all these years, Ryu has trained in many different restaurants in Japan.

Ryu arrived in Spain at the age of 46 and since then he’s been Master of Japanese Cuisine in various restaurants such as Shibui, Fishshop and the Monchos group, with 15 restaurants in Barcelona and over 1000 employees.

Master Katano arrives in Kairiku with a very clear mission: to form his new disciple, Bruno Peixoto, a new talent who stands out for his passion, enthusiasm, sensitivity and desire to learn from one of the best Shisho (Masters of Japanese Cuisine) in Spain.

His cuisine is technical, simple and traditional but at the same time innovative and creative, always working with the highest quality raw materials. Katano stands out for the excellence of his cut, as one of the main features of a Master are the years of practice in all the different areas of Japanese cuisine, geared towards perfecting the technique. It takes a chef an average of 25 years to become a high level Master.

This collaboration with Master Katano is the natural result of the evolution of a restaurant of the level of Kairiku, recently recommended by the Michelin Guide.

The entire Kairiku team, the only Omakase in Mallorca, begins this new phase with great enthusiasm, ready to receive ten diners every evening who’ll share a table and the exclusive ritual, now guided by the prestigious Master Ryuichiro Katano.
